botticelli in my eyes, was the greatest painter who ever walked this realm.. he was definitely ahead of his time, a rebel of the renaissance era, he painted roman mythology with a catholic feel, so thats messed up.... the symbolism in each of his painting surpasses beyond those of leonardo's or even massacio's.. a woman made a career analysing each and everyone of the flowers painted in the allegory of spring.. fuck...

the fact that he painted roman mythology in the renaissance era made him stand out amongst those who painted for the church, yet he stayed true to the rules and proportions created in that era... he teases us with the portrayal of his famous venus having the same feel as mary does in every other painting during the renaissance era. the man is simply a genius, toying with nudity and ideal beauty as much as giotto toys with proportions... basically ahead of his time
